I'm a CPA and I've had plenty of clients with past due taxes but never seen them pull it directly from a bank account. Not saying it did not happen, it just isn't normal procedure from my experience.
In the future, when paying taxes, set up a My Alabama Taxes account and do it from there. You can designate which tax year the payment applies to, set up a payment plan, etc. Plus you have a record of the payment and where it was applied.
You might even could set up the account now and see if it was applied to the wrong tax year or if there is any record of your payment at all.

They will put a lien on all your accounts and as soon as $ hits it, it’s gone. You can prove you paid it and it will be refunded to you. I went through hell with the IRS and the state a good while back. It got paid but it was the worst time of my life.

If your state representative is any good he could maybe help. Some of them are good for about a year or two and the they get useless.

As far as IRS it doesn’t take long to understand why a guard checks you for weapons at the door.

“I’m out over 4k because these Fuck Tards in Montgomery can’t communicate between departments”. Wrong, you’re out 4k because you fucked around and didn’t pay your taxes. I paid my fucking taxes you ignorant asshole. Go crawl back in your hole and if you don’t have anything half way decent to add to the conversation then keep your fucking mouth shut. You said that you procrastinated… actually you said “I got busy and just procrastinated “.

That still doesn’t excuse the fact that I paid the bill long before a garnishment was a potential and the payment was not credited and my account was garnished. So they got their money and then decide to take it twice. In no way is that ok.

I have a MAT account and there is no record of the credit card payment at all. There is a record of the first garnishment but not the second. I have the credit card statement showing they received payment. Gonna fax that in tomorrow with a detailed dated account of all the history of this mess. Maybe that will work.

I have no advice to offer but I sincerely hope you get it all straightened out soon. I can't imagine what a headache this is and will be.

I may be a fucktard, but at least I'm intelligent enough to know what April 15 is every year. I also know not to post shit like this on a public website. Like I said, YOU fucked up and now you're looking for some sympathy. You'll find that in a dictionary between the words Tuff and Shit.

I'm not going to give you any hope. I have a gf that does court reporting some for the State. She complains constantly about the incompetence of her dealings with them in getting paid and reimbursed.
I feel sorry for ya, dude. This would have devastated me! You want to do everything you can to keep any of the government out of your lives, whether it's DHR, state troopers, "treasury," etc... I had no idea the State could garnish your account though I knew the feds could. The state is actually worse than the feds when it comes to seizing assets. Back in the early 90s I was audited by the state over a truck allowance I was told I didn’t have to claim. I sent them staffs of paper thinking that would get it resolved. No luck so they were getting ready to go after my checking account. So I had to take them a check to the Gadsden office at the time to make it come to an end. Also had a buddy that had an outstanding bill for an emergency room visit at Boaz hospital. State took his tax refund for that

You are correct. The state is WAY worse than the Feds. They will go after your bank accounts and property at a rapid pace but damn sure can’t manage to send a refund in a timely manner. Alabama is one of the most unfriendly small business states in the country. They are absolutely brutal tax wise. Same for individuals. If you make 4,500.00 in this state you are required to file a tax return. That is absolutely ridiculous and dont get me started on the State owned liquor business. I love living here but I have access to move to Florida at any time and never seriously considered doing so until now.

At least you admit your a fucktard🖕 Yeah, but not a Stupid Fucktard like yourself. When you get a garnishment letter it's too f'n late to be paying taxes to a processor that handles payments to the State. Did you really think they'd automatically send the money they collected the minute you gave it to them? Good luck getting your money back. I'll bet they're going to apply the extra money you sent them to next years taxes to make sure they get it, and don't forget to fill out the paperwork for estimated taxes every quarter and drop a check in the mail along with it now that they have you on their list. Here's a website you can go cry on. See how much sympathy and cash you'll get there after they hear your sob story. https://www.gofundme.com
