Looks like yall shipped back all them mexicans, now theyre poisoning the crap out of you. Poison lettuce, beef with screw worms, now jalapeños. Usda doing a fine job with inspections! Eat up!! Its probably alot cheaper. Anyone remember my thread on tomatoes? All the plan trusters called me stupid on that one too!

It almost sounds as if you are angry with everyone for buying food at a grocery store.
If we truly had a libertarian government, there would be no federal inspectors at all. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? The people who produce food just want to make money. the people who purchase food, just want to eat good food and not get sick doing it.
What is the answer?

What is the answer? Buy American! Not a hard answer. Eliminate the usda, want to eat safe food, take some self responsibility. If you think you need the government to make sure what your eating is safe. You rely on the government way too much

Wouldn’t this boil down to the choice to eat what you know is making people sick or not no matter where it comes from ? I’ve gotten sick from eating good ol homegrown American foods so there that

I’m for as little oversight as possible. But it seems the nature of a lot of people is to get away with as much as they can. That doesn’t matter what nationality. When it comes to food which is a necessity, there is going to have to be some oversight. You have to be realistic in your view. I’m sure it could be better and most likely streamlined, but that’s a different topic. Strictly a guess here but I would bet that there have been food borne illnesses that were based out of the USA.

Problem is Mexico doesnt have the same regulation as we do here. So the usda requires americans to do things they dont make forigners do. Then they (usda whos in charge of inspecting it)lets the bad product it. Seems not so much like an American first agenda!

Just look at the things they are "allowed" to put in the foods, it can have up to "this much." Why is some of the chemicals even allowed a little, much less allowances. Other countries also ban ingredients the food and drug admin. allows.

The point you make , is correct, but proves my point even more. You have no idea where your food comes from. Boars head poisoned a buch of people too. They were heavily inspected by usda right here in the usa. Turns out one of the big problems there were they were either paid off, or incompetent. Either way not relay needed!

How is the government making me choose to eat or not to eat what is making people sick ? I don’t eat iceberg lettuce jalapeños or tomatoes So far I haven’t seen anyone with a gun to their head and given a choice of To Eat or Not to Eat and die The News of this food borne illness has been widely reported for a month and people are still ingesting the very thing that’s reportedly making people sick ….thats their choice

The government isn’t forcing me to buy food but I am forced to pay taxes or suffer the consequences of not We have several farmers markets no more than 15 minutes away that sell beef pork fish vegetables and I can testify that the government hasn’t made me buy from those places Fact is I’d like to buy some beef from you and may do so in the future I enjoy supporting local businesses and that’s my choice and that choice is not being made for me

Let me give you an example. I have a commercial freeze dryer. I take produce, onions tomatoes, watermelon, cantaloupe, ect. Cut it up and put in freeze dryer. Absolutely nothing added to it. It will keep for years. Several on here have tried it and said it was great! Almost everyone who has tried it said, you should be selling this. Went to local farmers market and asked if i could sell. No! You have to send it to Montgomery and have it tested, before your allowed to sell it. Im not doing all that just to sell some produce, its not cost effective and a complete time waste. But what you can do, is freeze dry candy and sell it without testing. Now let me ask you this, do YOU have the choice to buy, my freeze dried produce? No. Why? Government!

Do you have a choice to set up a market of your own and sell your products ? We travel down south every harvest season and there’s tons of local people selling there goods in markets theyve set up that they’ve grown and made

But you still had to throw in a dig about me personally "relying on the government." That wasn't necessary. I've worked my ass off since I was a pre-teen. And I neither agree nor disagree. I personally lean more Libertarian than most people, but I've never been able to figure out how a society works without a government. Even the Native Americans had a pretty highly structured government before the Europeans arrived.

Backwards C’s freeze dried onions and tomatoes plus other veggies and candy are great. I’ve been eating the tomatoes and onions for past 2 years and haven’t gotten sick. Great way of preserving. Talk about government overreach.

I personally lean more Libertarian than most people, but I've never been able to figure out how a society works without a government. Even the Native Americans had a pretty highly structured government before the Europeans arrived. That was not a dig at you personally. It was directed at anyone who thinks we need the usda to make sure we eat safe. You stated, you dont understand how we make it without any government. Thats eating an elephant, what you have to do is take it bite by bite. So lets start with this bite. Usda, how do we make it without them? Self responsibility is the answer. Make it personal to know where your food comes from, and what your eating. Do what you have to do to make sure its safe. It can be done i know, because i do it. Most of my customers are doing the same thing. They aren't as self reliant as i am, but are working towards it little by little. This can be done with each branch of government. Now as far as getting offended by my comment. I dont know you. You dont know me. So if something i say offends you, because you dont rely on the government, thats on you. And to be honest, IF THATS THE CASE, you get offended way to easily. I feel confident about most people on here who hate me, if they came and met me and hung out for a little while, we would be freinds. Nothing on here anyone has said about me offends me, simply because the person posting it has no idea who i really am!
