A new app to compete with HuntStand and OnX just released.
It's called Contors, and I've been really impressed with it. It fixes a lot of the things that drive me crazy about the other apps. I've been giving HuntStand constructive feedback for years, but they never seem to listen. It's still brand new, so there are definitely a few things to work out, but I think it's going to end up being the best option by a long shot.

I have used HuntStand for years and finally gave up on them here recently. Switched to onX and I just don’t like the tools or imagery as much. I will have to check this out.

I have a paid subscription to ONX Hunt, I love the danged thing.
The best I've ever used was an app called Motion-X GPS. It was absolutely fantastic and integrated so well with Google Earth PRO. It's no longer available, not sure why

I love BaseMap Always has worked great for me and most of my hunting club. Easy to use and if you ever need help they have been fast to respond.

What happens to all your waypoints if you switch to a new app? I assume they would be lost?

Polaris (as in the ATV company) also has an app. It's free (or at least it used to be and I assume it still is)...it's intended for trail riding and whatnot, but it essentially functions just like OnX. Has satellite and topo maps and even has Landowner/GIS info. You can save pins/waypoints/etc too.
It's essentially a free version of OnX

What happens to all your waypoints if you switch to a new app? I assume they would be lost? Most GPS apps allow exporting and importing of waypoints and tracks. For example ONX; I would export "My Contents" folder to a file MyONXContents.kml (uses Google KML format). On the new app I would import that file.
