So far, news reports have been positive on the armed citizen. I’m surprised, but it’s about time.
Don’t see many people toting a suppressed long range carry weapon, but it was helpful in this situation.

The story was on Good Morning America and the private citizen was called a hero for engaging with his weapon. No gun control vitriol; just praise for the good guys.

FWIW, the suppressor could be a big advantage in this type situation. In the heat of the moment it might prevent the killer from realizing he's being shot at. Of course, in a perfect world, he'd be immediately hit and it wouldn't matter. In a few circumstances, the suppressor could help conceal your location from responding police, almost as big a threat as the actual killer, because of the great potential of mistaken identity. While everyone is running toward the sound of gunfire, you don't want to be making that sound.

There are several different AI enhanced versions of this pic floating around it's crazy. One version has him wearing a straw cowboy hat and cut off jeans. According to what I can make out from the video, he isn't even wearing the same hat as in the picture above. It looks like he's wearing a ball cap over a do-rag.

The true mark of a man is not how he conducts himself during times of prosperity, but how he conducts himself during times of adversity.
