Prime example of why Alabama game laws are a joke. 15 fresh racks in his truck. Who knows how many at his residence. Hunting at night. Hunting without a license, over the limit, not game checking, hunting out of season, killing 15 plus bucks, trespassing, hunting without permission, and he was fined a grand total of $5000 for the game violations. A pure joke.

Should have been fined at least five times that much.
The fines for major game violations are laughable and do nothing to deter these scumbags.
I remember sitting in the old Wishbone restaurant off 59 near Eutaw around 35 years ago. Some scumbag at a nearby table was bragging to his buddy about getting busted for shooting the mechanical deer on more than one occasion. He was laughing about it and saying that it wouldn't stop him.
Big fines
Jail time for repeat or egregious offenders
Confiscate trucks, guns etc used in commission of the crimes.
That's how to protect the resources.
Assholes like this guy do more harm than 10 guys in a hunting club with corn piles and cameras.

Like others have alluded too, I'm not impressed with his poaching skills if he did it as much as he did in Jackson Co. and that was the best he could come up with.
His sentence and fine may sound light but I imagine it would have been worse if he wasn't looking at 30 years for Felon in Possession then the Feds love it when the cases are already made for them so they may bring charges too and the gun charges bring mandatory time in the Federal pen. Bottom line, there is not a deer out there worth what he's dealing with, especially not those deer. He sounds like he's just one of those dudes that simply enjoys breaking the law and that is his main motivation.
