Have an old 336, but in great shape, used this rifle throughout my youth. Always had 3x9 glass on top, but never what I'd consider " good " glass. I'm usually grabbing my 25-06 or 7 mag due to they just have better glass and illuminated reticles. So I was thinking about an accu point 3x9 or they also have a 2.5x10. that way I didn't have to worry about changing a battery like my other scopes. There is none local in any shops, but it sounds like what im looking for, clear glass, reticles great for low light. And before I get the no scope should be on a 30-30 or I like a smaller scope on a lever gun, Im old, I like at minimum a 3x9-40.... Does anyone have one they are happy with? Any that don't think its worth the $600 price tag?

Its absolutely worth the coin. I'd put the 1-4 on a 30/30.

You would be happy with a vortex strike eagle also. I didn't believe it either, no bell on the far end. Just same as tube, great light transmission. Look through one and i promise you'll be very surprised.

I looked at the firedot years ago when they came out and loved it. I tried to find one later and they was discontinued. It was like a vx-3 or something. I want to say the firedot was motion activated sorta...

I have a couple old zeiss scopes and they are clear, but I'm kinda set on a illuminated reticles. This old rifle will be used for nothing but dark woods for the most part.

Really need to look at a vortex strike eagle, before you spend your coin. Just trying to save your money, low light it's great. I didn't believe my friend that spends alot of money on glass. He was telling me the truth!
