Lot of bad pub on him right now! He got caught beating down grass in rough to help him hit ball better. He got a 2 stroke penalty! He was caught on tv saying - if you give me that 2 stroke penalty - i not playing tomorrow! Kind of a highly immature and unprofessional statement cause that is a penalty!

Forgot to mention - he flipped out over it when rules official approached him. Common knowledge when u improve lie - its a 2 stroke penalty

I watched it live and didn't think much of it until after the round when the R&A took him back out.
He didn't beat the grass down. He made a step behind the ball, and it was right at the base of the fescue clump. Didn't look intentional at all, but it doesn't have to be intentional. He improved his lie, plan and simple. However, in typical Bryson fashion he acted the way he did.
