Already talks starting about him being a Heisman contender.......I'm gonna have to see how he looks in a real game first before I can jump on that bandwagon

Yeah, they do this every Summer. He's looked good from what I've seen, but let's just pump the brakes until the season starts.

No chance unless the line is improved. Where did Bama finish in recruiting rankings or is that an invalid measure with NIL? I've lost touch.

You could put Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson back there and they’d be on their ass in less than 2 seconds. That was the worst OL I have ever seen Bama field in my 48 years of watching football. That even goes for the “honk if you sacked Brodie” line. I wish we’d have had that bunch last year. At least we’d been able to run the ball.

They were talking on jox this morning about him signing a big nil deal with nike (along with a couple others) and there's speculation that means he's at least the starter going into the season.
The harder I practice, the luckier I get.

Kid has talent but he hasn’t ever even taken a meaningful college snap. Most QBs win the heisman as a result of not only their personal talent, but also the talent of the players and coaches surrounding them. No o-line, no feature RB, WRs that drop almost as many passes as they catch, anyone been impressed with Deboer or the OC? There’s a reason that Bama is ranked 16 or 17th in the pre-season composite polls and that doesn’t bode well for Russell’s heisman campaign. I’m with CNC on this one.

I really don't see any "real" Heisamn hype from "credible" sources.. Most QB rankings don't even gave Bama in the top 5-8 in the SEC because Russell/Mack have no track record. I think they will be better than that, though.
And; yes, the supporting cast makes a BIG difference. For instance; Mendoza only had one 300 yard passing game last year. 303yds against FSU

Bama will still hav a deep and talented roster They are only planning to sign 15-16 in this class due to high retention(46 out of 48) of the last 2 highly ranked classes. Can't be ranked high in the formulas with those low numbers. Early; but they are #1 in 2028 class, so far.
