I spoke with a sales rep I deal with at equipment share. He said they are buying up local buildings businesses all across the country. Is the money that great in local sales that a big corporation can make a profit off of them? Like everything corporate they are top heavy. White cap has bought up the like majority of the commercial building supply companies local and what was once a good construction materials company we bought from has went to shit under this new umbrella.

There are different ways to make a profit. One is buying up competition, sliding your losses into that company and taking it as a loss, then shutting it down. Raytheon made that SOP back in the late 90's early 2000's. Shut Rust constructors and engineering down slowly in favor of the union ran portions up north.
Character is not developed in moments of temptation and trial. That is when it is intended to be used.

If you can’t run them out at first or they won’t sale, hire all their people out from under them.

I’m sure Arab Lumber was a lot more valuable after Walkers shut down. The guys that work there don’t like it.

Definitely different when Trey owned/ran the company. I bought all building materials there when I built my house in 2024. Great doing business with them back then.

Big companies are buying up all they can that AI can not take over.

I didn't know that the Walkers had shut down. They probably have enough money to buy the city of Arab.

Sounds like the same company that is buying Green's Building Supply in Scottsboro. The buyers aren't competition and aren't buying it to shut it down.
"Why do you ask"?
Too many people spend money they don't have , on things they don't need, to impress people they don't know.

I just know most builders I’ve ever met like dealing with the local type building supply stores. They like a more personal service. And also if running tight letting their credit extend. That’s why they don’t prefer the box building supply stores. I just wonder if they will try and buy Marvin’s next?

When did Arab Lumber sell out? I thought the Hamiltons still owned it? Just in the past few months. I found out one day when I went in and the guns were gone. They told me they had sold and the new owner didn’t want gun sales. I assumed the Walker family had bought it
