I’m looking for recommendations for a hybrid style hunting boot….a light weight boot tennis shoe cross that’s waterproof. Something similar to the Under Armour HOVR’s. I’ve heard both good and bad about the HOVR’s but have no experience. Can anyone recommend a brand or style? What’s your experiences?

Crispi Lapponia 3 or Crispi Lapponia lite or Crispi attiva. I’ve had 3 different models of Crispi boots and they have all been well made, broken in from the beginning, and stay waterproof with minimal care

Hoka has some boots I have been eyeing since I love my Hoka running shoes. I have a pair of Schnee hunting boots which are very comfortable.

I like most anything Danner makes I have a pair of Insulated Danner's for when the temps drop. Very comfortable boots.

I am currently on a pair of Merrells, they've been great. Danner, Vasque, crispi, asolo have all been great for me as well.

I bought a pair on Danner Pronghorn last year to wear out in New Mexico. Really loved them. Wore them when I got back deer hunting and walked through wet grass back to truck. My socks were moist from toe about to were laces start on both boots. Had worn them less than 10 times. They did give me a full refund.

Whatever you buy, make sure it has a gortex liner if you want waterproof. I do not feel like my feet get too hot in warmer temps. I prefer Danners myself.

I got the Chinese thoroughgood 400 gram boots thinking they were just cheap eBay boots but they turned out to be my best pair ever comfort wise, but I never did buy expensive boutique boots either.

It’s a Colorado mule deer hunt. I’ve done a couple elk hunts in my Danner Pronghorns and they performed very well….comfortable, water proof, and suitable for low temps, etc. The only complaint I had was toe blisters. The only shoe I’ve used I don’t get blisters in while hiking is a tennis shoe. I was just curious if anyone had any experiences with the hybrid/tennis shoe type boots, and whether anyone had a recommendation for a brand or model they’ve had good results with. This particular upcoming hunt is going to require a significant amount of hiking with loaded packs up to altitude (11,000-11,500) and I’ve got the blister protectors to use if I’m in a traditional boot.
