Drone question? Do we not have drones that hunt drones? Never seen crack squirrels but downtown Birmingham has some good sized rabbits. Ukraine has them and apparently very good interceptor drones. Some can fly almost 300 miles an hour, track, target and kill enemy drones using AI, and if they miss will return home to do it all again later.

WSJ had another article on this recently. The head of the German (I think Army) made the point that this type of warfare is also extremely hard to prepare for without actively participating. The innovations come too fast. You could build 1000 drones that are effective today and in 6 months they would be obsolete.
Scary stuff.
I wonder if this will make offensive operations almost impossible. That seems to have happened in Ukraine. It seems like something similar happened in other period of technological innovation, specifically the Civil War (improved rifles) and WWI. Tactics hadn't caught up and defenders had massive advantages. However, I have limited knowledge of that history.

It's the Kinzhal and Iskander missiles that are the problem. The Patriot is the only system capable of taking them down. That or a missile launched from an aircraft.
Russian society is starting to crack. Numerous videos of fights breaking out in gas lines. When basic food staples become too expensive or non-existence, there will be more internal conflict. Thanks to cell phones, Putin can no longer control what is being shown to his citizens.

Maybe buy, but not manufacture.

The Patriot Missile system was developed in the late 60s and early 70s and actually placed into full service in the early 80s. It was woefully inept in the first Iraq war, with zero confirmed intercepts. Sure it's been improved on since then but some of y'all need to get up to speed. Everything we've shot in skirmishes over the past 30 yrs was developed 20 yrs earlier, and it's still far superior to anything else that anyone has. When it comes to building weapons systems to destroy stuff and kill people, the US is unmatched. There's new stuff in inventory now, that nobody has ever seen, and will not see, until such time as it is actually needed.

Trump just asked Zelesky if he would be willing to travel to Moscow. Zelensky responded, "No. It is too dangerous there, to many Ukrainian drones flying around". The comment flew right over Trump's head.

Drones have been around for many years. We've had UAS for decades. I think that maybe they just made others realize that gorilla type actions can piss people off. But the bottom line is, we'll just adjust. I don't see it as earth shaking technology.

Russia could just drop a nuke if they wanted a shut it down for good. Could have ended it long ago so everything aint always what we hear or see unless ur actually there to see it.

The only nation that would use a nuke nowadays is Iran.
