Dealing with hot flashes for a few years. Ceiling fan on full blast, fan on the dresser, ac on 68. Freezing my arse off at night Yep, the power bill goes down to nothing in the winter. Don't think our heat has been on in at least 2 years now. I wear sweats and keep a blanket in my chair all year long. If I'm ever put on blood thinners I may not make it.

You 2 started the hot flashes yet?😂😂 Not yet.......the mood swings are hell though.  When the moods are swinging pretty big, chainsaw work in the yard/nearby woods helps. Not her, but gets me waaaaay outta the way so I won’t say anything that’ll get me in trouble.

I used to be the one that was roasting in the house. Now I keep several hooded sweatshirts handy. And DO NOT touch the thermostat on the HVAC after 3pm…just put on one of my hooded sweatshirts and rock on!

It almost caused me a divorce. My wife had been going through it at the time for about a year or so. Her and her sisters had went to a Christmas light show and when she got home she was on one. I told her I’m not dealing with this. Just so happen a house three houses down from us had come up for rent and I moved in there for several months until she finally got on some medication for it. But I can tell you it was a rough couple of years.

My wife is 48 and has started the perimenopause symptoms. Her doctor don’t think that’s what it is but it’s all lining up. My wife started at 47. We are right at 1 yr into it. She did start the hormone patch very early on and it has helped tremendously. She still gets the hot flashes pretty regularly, but her mood is pretty much back to normal.

Mrs. Marsh had to have a partial hysterectomy a couple years ago. Supposedly they took the parts that has some to do with her not really going through a menopause. So far there has not been much of an issue with that. YET!!!! Take her to the doctor and get her on the hormone patches, it makes life way easier. My wife did both of the above. Life's been great at my house.

We are about year 11/12 of this stuff. No, I am not exaggerating, you have pre-meno., meno., then post meno. We've been and still are on the patches, different creams, just started the hormone replacement about 3 months ago, still ............ This stuff is not good for a relationship, I will say that much about it.

She has been approaching peri before now... it's a slow burn likely to get ramped up here in the next year. This is about the time some pounds started piling on for me... and I was a newlywed (didn't help he is an awesome cook!) so I felt rather out of control. Peri + being happy or depressed = weight gain. Dammit! My experience is that lifting weights is one natural way to try to even out the hormone unbalances. And trust me, this is not some glamorous solution, I could not hate the thought of it more, but it does many things in the body, all beneficial. And bonus, you're not so self conscious to hide your arms (or other things) during the summer! I came back here for the comments and I am not disappointed! #gratefulforairconditioning

Wife got on HRT with her Gyn and symptoms all but gone. No more hot flashes, crazy hormone swings etc.
