I had breakfast at cracker barrel this morning and chose to scan and pay. I selected the prechosen tip percentage i wanted to tip. But the system is set up to include tax before tip. Meaning if you choose 20%, you are tipping 20% on the taxes as well. I'm sure they are aware of this and set it up just to get as much as they can from people. Crooked if you ask me.

That's horseschitt! mad I would have to delete the electronic tip and leave it on the table the old fashioned way.

Went to Walmart after breakfast. Damn self checkout asking if I want to round up to the nearest dollar. NO!! I'm sure Walmart made money off me. I lost money. Why is a multi billion dollar Corp asking me for more money? Every every you go.

They collect the money, then use the donation as a tax write off.

When the register asks you to round up to donate money XYZ whatever charity that money goes into a slush fund that the company uses for tax write off purposes. They are the real charity that is getting your money.

Asking for a tip at a fast food drive thru is a damn crime in my mind, but they have started doing it. Subway asks for a tip. Pizza places do it for carry out now.

To me, Cracker Barrel is one of the most Overrated Restaurants out there. Never understood the cult following.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

You can find the entire Cracker Barrel menu on the aisle with Number 10 size cans at SAM's.

I tip at Subway.

Cracker Barrel used to have a good breakfast, but the last time I went was about 5 years ago and it was terrible.

Agree with you. It used to better decades ago. Last couple of times I went because my mom likes it and to me it was really below average. Food was better in the past but I won’t go there again.

I like CB.

Just click custom and punch in the amount you want to tip.

I’ve heard this before, but it doesn’t make sense when you drill down into it.

When you round up for charity, the vendor has to recognize that ‘contribution’ as revenue or gross receipts. The correct path to not pay tax on the additional income from the round up contribution is to then take all the rounded-up contributions and expense them as charitable contributions just as you the customer agreed to when you made the contribution. The vendor literally gets nothing out of the whole scheme other than a headache of accounting for the contributions and the corresponding charitable contribution. A “tax write off” is a complete misnomer that basically only means a tax filer doesn’t pay income on ordinary business expenses and charitable contributions. The money still got spent and not in a company owner’s pocket.

"Why do you ask"?

Too many people spend money they don't have , on things they don't need, to impress people they don't know.

The CB in Athens managed to make a bad pancake breakfast. That was my last meal in a CB about 5 years ago.
