I have heard from two people today about poults. One said two hens had a number of poults run onto my new land. Other said he saw a hen with 12 poults behind his house at a different property. Hoping they make it through this

Got a hen with poults in my garden any time I go.down there. She keeps them hid in the weeds and I don't know how many are left, but she picked a good place to keep them. They should be close to flying age.

Had two hens with 19. They all flew but a few poults didn’t fly well. In the same field a gobbler strutting with a hen. I’m still seeing gobblers with hens and they’re strutting usually.

Worked in Ocala, Florida the first 2 weeks of June and saw a bunch of poults down there. I have seen one poult and lots of lone hens since I have got back home. Have heard a few people say they have seen some decent sized hen & poult groups in hale county.

I just watched the Gamekeeper episode where they are studying poults, it was a great show, amazing that their were some that were strutting at a week old! Also fun watching them eating bugs!

Saw 2 hens with poults yesterday in Pickens county. Looked like each had 2 or 3 but couldn’t stop to get a good look.

Got a pile of them this year. I have a 7 ac summer plot that’s mostly waist high sorghum and they are in it constantly. See them about every day on our evening ride around

I haven’t seen any in a few weeks. I do have several lone hens, which is a little disappointing.

Finally saw some poults this morning while spraying. Have a couple of plots with heavy stands of horse nettle and since the Q Clover is still active decided to hit with 2,4D. The poults were in the plot and hunkered down in the crab grass/watergrass. They flushed as a drove up, at least 5 a little larger than a chicken.

I saw my first group of poults yesterday after I mowed an area for chufa. There was at least 10 about the size of a pheasant. They were able to fly really well. They were in the freshly mowed plot when I came back through heading to the truck.

I ran a nice bunch out of a chufa patch yesterday when I was spraying it. I didn't get a look at the whole flock, but there were at least 2 different sizes and all them could fly well. I'll probably get a better look at them eventually.
