Its a celt (axe) made out of meteoritic iron. Those are very rare. The style is similar to an Arkansas-Missouri style that dates to roughly 800AD. Whats the story on it?

My brother found it today. Dont know exactly where. Ive never seen one like it

A lot of folks say that when they find one but the thing with hematite is that it does not grind and polish well like that. Hematite has to be heat treated in a very hot fire, almost to the point of smelting before it can be polished like that. Meteoritic iron is already heat treated from falling through the atmosphere.

Not much. Iron grinds pretty easy against stones. Think about sharpening your knives. He still had a better ax than most everybody else with stone axes.
