I’ve got an older Remington Wingmaster 16 ga pump with a 28” full choke and a 26” improved cylinder barrel. I’m seriously thinking about sending one of the barrels to Comp-N-Choke for threading, to accept screw in chokes. What does the establishment think about a 16ga for a turkey thumper?

Should be almost as good as a 12ga 😃

If it’s a special gun, I’d just kill one with it and put it up. Then pick up the 20 ga and get back to hunting. I wouldn’t fool with it otherwise in my opinion

I’d just run tss through the improved cylinder barrel and not worry about getting it threaded depending on the pattern she threw.

One of my main turkey guns is a 16 ga 870 youth model.

Definitely no sentimental value, just a gun I wound up with along the way!

Use the full choke barrel. If you can find 16 ga TSS, great. If not use #6 lead or copper coated lead. I have the same setup, and will use it next season if I can kill one early with my 20 gauge. I wouldn't mess with the IC barrel, save that for quail or ducks over decoys. Full is usually all the turkey choke you need, esp with TSS. Good luck.
