Me either! I don't have enough use for it to justify buying one, but it would be great to be able to rent one for a couple of days. I hope some of the rental places will make some available.

Its a big sickle mower. Cant see it cutting limbs as efficient as a circular blade or bushhog type
Two roads diverged in the woods and I took the one with deep ruts,hills and mud.It may be bumpy but WHAT A RIDE!

Its a big sickle mower. Cant see it cutting limbs as efficient as a circular blade or bushhog type I'm sure it isn't, but what I like about it is that it looks so easy to mount. It looks like you bolt it to the bucket, hook in the 2 lines, and go to work. The only question regarding it being a good rental is if it will hold up.

That thing sure would be nice to have, especially cutting around the edge of the pond. What kind of hydro flow does it require?

I was thinking about hiring about 5 Mexicans and renting each a pole saw and let them go. If any of yall have one of these high fangled do dads around Macon co and would like to make a little side money, pm me. I have some areas I would like delimbed.

I cant see that sicklebar lasting long. Imo spent $ & go with a lane shark style cutter with stand alone hydraulic pump. Plenty brands to chose from out there

A member on here shared info of a person that builds inexpensive bucket mounted cutters and I bought one and it’s been flawless for over five years. It’s made from a DR Chipper Company 40’’ mower deck with a hydraulic pump mounted to it and plumed to the third function that runs the grapple. It has a 2” male receiver welded to the deck so we welded a female piece like what’s on a truck to the tractor bucket. Anyone with a little fab experience would have no problem building one. Should look into spraying roadsides with herbicides after you get them cut back. It’s much less labor intensive. This here.

Not trying to be a jackass, but that’s gonna be a frustrating and disappointing venture.
Been there and done that.
You’re gonna have to go extremely slow when cutting and it’s still gonna get hung up.
Hard to say which is gonna fail first, the mount or the bar.
Regardless, neither is gonna last very long.
Now, I just pay a guy with a hydraulic cutter on a mini-ex and keep it sprayed.
The mini-ex is the most efficient method and has the most reach.

We have a limb ninja. We don’t have to walk and trim roads anymore. We used a 50 hp JD. We got it from a guy in Enterprise.

Now I'm just thinking of how I'd use one and I don't think the sickle bar would hold up as well as a heavy blade , mini bush hog type. Looks like you'd really have to creep along with the sickle bar and if you misjudged the size of a limb or it was a tougher wood , well "something's gotta give." IMO.

I don't know how much or how often you need to trim your roads, but one of those cages for the 330 gallon totes makes a great work basket on your tractor forks . Put someone in it with a pole saw . Remember to strap the cage to the forks with a good chain or ratchet strap . this for the win ^ ride your roads annually...cage and a pole saw can also use that cage to fill feeder hoppers on extended legs
