Are Mountain Laurels a cousin to Indian Hawthorns? The ones I mentioned trimming back, I cut them way back and I'm trying to keep them pruned back and half way shaped. I noticed the ones I've done this to look a lot like Indian Hawthorns that I had planted at another place.

Mountain laurel are beautiful plants! There is a bunch of mountain laurels that grow in The Red Hills area of Monroe county, Alabama.
