That’s another thing that pisses me off about our agent. My wife has been with him for 35 plus years. We’ve been married almost 30 and she insisted I give up Alfa and we put it all with her agent.

We’ve paid way more in than our claims combined (4 or 5 and none our fault but 1 $500 claim) and we’re treated like thugs this last claim to the point the 3rd inspector guy lied about the date we were making claims about.
Wife talked to her friend down the street and their house got hammered and they had get lawyers involved. Another friend told her the same things about a roof with hail damage.

Unfortunately, being with a company for a long time means nothing. Also, agents sell insurance, and most of the time are uninvolved after getting claims going. There are some that still do, but for the most part, agents are separate from claims.

I have Alfa, and they have been good. This isn't their issue, its Allstate that I expect to pay. Not my insurance company.

Filing on yours and letting them deal with the other company is good advice.

I’ve worked it both ways and the recommended route here was a much better outcome than fighting it myself.

Yeah my wife was gym buddies with this guy and his wife. We all know a lot of the same people

He’s in his late 70s now and I hope I can be nice. She’s ready to go talk with him.

Does anyone have experience with Zander insurance (Dave Ramsey's recommended insurance)?

Sure, but that doesn’t make them less legitimate. State Farm and Allstate agents are also separate from claims. The real difference is that Zander appears to be independent and shops multiple carriers, while those agencies usually represent one insurer.

I used them when I moved to Tennessee and as IDOT said they are just a broker. Their customer service was absolutely awful.

Find a local independent insurance broker and talk with them.
