I'm going to have to disagree with you, there isn't a jake alive with 1 inch spurs. Like I said earlier.... most 2 year olds don't eclipse the 1 inch mark unless they were an early hatch. I've also seen single gobblers run with droves of jakes a pile of times. I once saw one longbeard running with 37 jakes out West years ago.

I can verify that there was at least one alive with 1" spurs - he is dead now. I killed him about 20 years ago. Staggered tail fan, short beard and 1" rounded spurs. He would have been a good one the next year!

I’ve learned, with resistance, to never say never regarding things in the natural world. There are norms and anomalies, and although that would definitely be an anomaly, it’s certainly not out of the realm of possibilities. Extremely rare though. I’ve never seen it.

right - all i know is if a male turkey has a full gobble, by definition, he is a gobbler - whatever his fan/beard/spur combination ends up being
if he’s gobbling the woods down, he’s legal & a target
