So the wife came up with the idea of having a single golden egg hidden for my three boys to hunt this morning. It had a $100.00 bill inside. The boys are 21, 18, and 18. I took it, put it in a ziplock bag and stapled it to the bottom of an Adirondack chair in the back yard. They couldn’t find it for anything so I came up with an idea. I told them for every 10 weeds they pull, they get one hint. Knocked out all the weeds in the back yard and only ended up costing me $100.00

I did the same thing with my two teenagers. I put it under a random board laying beside a fence. It took them an hour to find it. They whined and complained the entire time. laugh

I come from a pretty large extended family. Every family would chip in $10 for 10-eggs. My uncle who didn’t have children would provide a single $100 egg that he would hide days before. He had a pretty large cattle farm and would always hide the egg under a cow patty. It was always hilarious watching all of the kids running into the field flipping the cow patties.

That's a good story.

We always had the VERY BEST Easters. Easter brings back so many great and wonderful memories of my childhood.

My Uncle Carl (I was named after him - my middle name is Carl) along with 3 or 4 of his brothers (these were some of my Great Uncles and Grandpa) would sit up all-night drinking and roasting goats (normally 3-4 goats) on a spit. My Grandma would have this indignant look on her face and say, "Look at em, they're all drunker than Cooter Brown."

There would probably be close to 150-people or so at his farm and the crazy thing is - everyone was related and knew each other. They'd hide around 450-500 eggs with each egg being worth a dollar, except Uncle Carl's egg (the $100 egg). EVERYONE knew it would be under a cow patty and if I remember correctly, it was the only egg that wasn't dyed - just a plain white boiled egg with nothing on it.

Uncle just got y'all to find all the silly head mushrooms for him. Only cost him $100 for some pretty good trips. Genius level stuff right there.

The HOA where my son lives has a large community park. Saturday was the Easter Egg hunt. The park was divided into two sections. The first section was for the kids. After it was finished, the second section was for one adult from each household. They hid mini liquor bottles, limit two. Son was able to trade his two for his favorite choice, Bacardi dark rum.

I had an uncle that would put prize eggs in ant beds.
