I have 2 businesses on the side in addition to my regular job.
The first one is Southern Design Services and I design Custom homes, shops, barns, carports, ETC.
The second business is Makin Plans Charters and I offer Inshore fishing, Nearshore fishing, Beach trips to secluded spots, sunset cruises, etc.
The house plan business the last few years has really taken off. I have had to start turning work down so I can go fishing more.

As soon as I post on FB "I'm taking small carpentry/building jobs for the summer", I fill up pretty quick. Usually have to end up turning work down when school starts back in the fall. Same story every time. Had a guy come look at it and never returned, or someone never came back to finish.
Its not the will to win but the will to prepare to win!

Evening gents. Looking for some suggestions on part time evening/weekend jobs or side hustles. The wife and I are trying to āDave Ramseyā the fire out of some small debt we have, and trying to think outside the box. Iāve done lawn care before and Iām pretty experienced in it, but building a customer base with every Tom, Dick, and Julio pulling a cub cadet and charging $30 a yard isnāt too enticing right now. Been in Lawn care for over 35 years now. Its been a looong time since I made 30/cut. I canāt step on a yard now for under 60/cut. There is a lot of competition out there but its not too hard too provide better quality service than 99% of the competitors. Thats how I stay successful. Where are you located?? Sorry just saw u posted your location. You probably already know this but target high end residences around there and local businesses. If you do a as outstanding job you should have plenty of ā Word of mouthā business. My daughter is at Auburn and I do need someone to do some things at her trailer from time to time, especially blowing off the roof. My number is 205-317-8076. Where I now live most people have long gravel driveways. A recently retired friend of mine couldnāt find someone to level his so he bought a little land plane he could pull with his sxs. All it took was one day of people seeing him work on his drive and next thing he knew, he was in business. He now has tractor with a 6ā plane along with safety signs and cones because he has several HOAās under contract. Heās almost got me hooked on getting a small rock spreader truck because itās needed badly in the area and I have a place to store a couple hundred yards of rock and equipment to load it.

Post for willing to do small jobs that no one else will miss with I donāt mind painting, and Iām good at installing ceiling fans, wall switches, etc..
I think those could keep a man busy. A qualified, clean-cut handyman could have as much work as he desired in my area. Focus on neighborhoods where the breadwinners have more money than time. Professionals don't blink an eye at paying $100+ per hour for a service that they either can't do or don't have time to do. A good handyman , that will show up and do quality work will have all the jobs he wants. People nowdays don't know how to do stuff around the house and/or don't have time. Example: there's a mother and son team around Jackson Co that hangs blinds. The new construction contractors keep them busy. Blinds are easy and really go up fast once you do a few and figure out the short cuts.

Too many people spend money they don't have , on things they don't need, to impress people they don't know.

This may be completely off your radar, but high school (and youth as well for that matter) sports officials are a dying breed. I currently call HS baseball and volleyball in my area and with the numbers of officials either getting out of it or not interested, you can call sports almost year round within the state of Alabama. I don't call as much youth or travel as I did in the past, but if you're willing to hustle and take assignments regularly then you can call almost daily somewhere.

But our associate used to carry 115 umpires and we are down to 80-85. They are about to work me to death lol.

Power washers and grass cutters a dime a dozen here don't know how any of em make a profit because of all the competition. Most of them do pretty sloppy work though.

I do soft washing/pressure washing. I also have a buddy who goes door to door in large neighborhoods. And asks 35 dollars a can to pressure wash garbage cans inside and out. He has a large water tote with deoderizer in it. Makes tons of cash weekly. Different routes Different days.
Love a good hunting story, love my family and friends. Some people you can't, but acted like do.
