I posted a couple of orchard sprayers for sale on craigslist yesterday. Ive got two texts since then, interested but wanting me to email them. I replied back "call me" and got no response, of course. So whats the angle? If i do email them, how are they trying to screw me? I dont really get it. What are they gona do with my email? Heck, its already linked to the craigslist account, looks like if they were any kind of iternet scam artists, theyd already have my email.

No clue as to your situation... Craigslist is an enemy of hunters, fishermen, and farmers. Assholes donated 30K to a portland clown and his mission to make farming, dairies, hunting, fishing, tethering animals and the list goes on with the proposed IP28 and stand side by side with PETA. Not trying to derail this thread but figured some folks may wanna know where they stand.

I am not sure about email lists, but at one time, phone lists were priced by what percentage of numbers would answer or verified to get a response. I assume email lists are similar, basically pay more per subscriber that might play the game.

Just guessing, but sounds like you may have it backwards. Anything you say over the phone leaves no record. Could be they just have questions and want your answers in writing.
I keep a second e-mail address to give to people that I think may abuse it--I can always access it to look for legitimate replies.

Seems like I heard about something like this in the past, but I can't remember the details. I don't know that I would use Craigslist. From what I know, it's available worldwide, not just to people local to you. The number of available people trying to screw you is much larger than the pool of people you'd like to consider buying your goods.

It's definitely a scam. There's someway they can use your email to hack into your phone and take the phone "hostage" they still your number and then use it to scam other people. I remember reading about it a few years ago. It's a pretty big deal. DON'T DO IT!

If they have your email and phone number they can try to potentially access accounts
