Win one??? Ones that can be sold (pre86 or whatever it is) are surely very expensive. Looked at what’s involved years ago but decided not worth the money. I’m sure the limited ones available for legal sale are triple or quadruple what they were a few decades ago. I believe you just file paperwork and pay $200 tax and wait on approval. Plus you have to be careful about what’s advertised as legal and what is really legal. Lot of folks get in trouble with HK sear guns and issues. I think it was folks buying DIAS based full auto firearms that weren’t really legal. I sure as heck wouldn’t want problems. Full auto is fun to shoot but it gets expensive between ammo and such. Can’t shoot them at some ranges. I think it would be fun to have a 22 since ammo for plinking would be cheap.

I haven’t followed the trends lately but several years ago about the cheapest option was a MAC11 at about $6K. M16s were in the $15-25K range and same for a AK47. Could find an M60 for around $35K

The biggest deal would be that the prices would bottom out, as this would be a work-around for the 1986 registry closure.
Modern ones are not that expensive. When I was citizen armorer for a local drug enforcement unit, they had an H-K UMP40. Cost the department about $1250 in 2010.
Great gun, but the Glock 18 was surprisingly controllable and tons of fun to shoot.

I haven’t followed the trends lately but several years ago about the cheapest option was a MAC11 at about $6K. The lowly MAC subguns have tripled in price since about 2008.

Today a Mac 10 would be $10-$11k.
Uzi $16-$17k
Colt M16 $33-100k depending on rarity and history

All because of the scarcity created by closing the registry. Open it back up and watch the prices fall.

If I could pick something full auto from the past I'd go American AR 180 the full auto 22.

You can put a 22lr upper or an upper similar to an American 180 on an m16 and it is fun.

My dad had a full auto 30 cal, carbine with the para trooper folding stock. It was really fun to shoot. But worried about getting caught with it.
Love a good hunting story, love my family and friends. Some people you can't, but acted like do.
