What is the lightest, and most comfortable climber you guys have used?
I like an ol man, and buckshot, and my favorite out of all of them but it is very bulky but light
Is a cougar claw....
Just curious. Looking for a lightweight climber for public land.
And NO I'm not going to use a saddle.
I have looked in to lock ons, and sticks, but they just seem like it would be alot of work to put on the tree, and get in and out quietly
And alot of work to take down after hunting.

Haven't thought about those stands in a while. Use to hunt with them often.
Love a good hunting story, love my family and friends. Some people you can't, but acted like do.

Summit Open shot. I’m 49 and it’s still as comfortable to me as it was in 07/08 when i purchased it. If memory serves me it’s like 11bs. I bought it for weight as back in the day as it wasn’t unusual to get deep in the woods at one of the old clubs I was in. It was bluff and river bottom hunting

I like API. I’ve got an open front bowhunter model that is lightweight and easy to carry, quick to setup/take down.

I've not used a whole bunch of different brands but my favorite so far has been a summit viper.

I've not used a whole bunch of different brands but my favorite so far has been a summit viper. I just don't feel the viper is big enough to sit comfortably for me. My older ol mans are uncomfortable now. But the new one i got the multivision about 4 years ago and i love it. But its steel, or i think it is.

I know ya said you looked at lok-ons and that's all I use now other than a ground blind late season snow/snowstorms. My Millennium M7 is super lite and I also have the M50 for all day sits. They have a bracket mounting system so I keep a few trees with the mounts installed to be mobile and I use an XOP Holiday harness to be able to shoot backside as if wearing a saddle. I also have climbing sticks or ladders on the presets so I only need one step with a 2 step aider to be in business. If I was getting another climber it would probably be a lone wolf or similar BUT, I prefer to face the tree with a gun.

I’ve got a summit viper that I really like the sturdiness and the weight. I DO NOT like how it nests together. I can never seem to get it right. I love my API. Very safe and sturdy with the chains but heavier. I’d recommend either one.

I’ve been using the Alpha Hand Climber for a very long time, and until I started hunting from a saddle, was my go to climber. You may be able to find a used hand climber. I don't think I have took either of the Summits out of my shop for about 3 years now, but at 60yo, I killed 3 deer out of my APIs this season. Yep, still comfortable enough at my age.

If you got to have a lightweight climber, for what lone wolf asks for a new one and what everybody thinks theirs is worth now because of the new ones…XOP REVOLT…idk much aboutem..but they weigh like 11lbs..but they are brand spankin new..just come out this year to replace last years xop hand climber..they are engineering crap faster than you can shake a stick at…so make sure the bolts is tight.
