I’m thinking about building a hunting rifle (700 action SA). Is there a more economical supplier than MDT? I want a folding stock chassis, adjustable comb and LOP would be kinda nice.
Second ?. What’s been your experience with shortening a .308? Wondering what barrel length I need, to produce sub 150 yard shots accurate?

Shorter barrels may enhance accuracy. 308 will be just fine with a 16" barrel.
