Looks like Lyman is the first to market with an inexpensive line of suppressors. press release said prices for all models will be between $199-$299. I knew it was coming, but I certainly didnt expect it from them!

Theyre not anything too exciting to look at and certainly not made for massive mag dumps but a modular, over barrel 30 cal suppressor for under $300 is pretty interesting.

They haven’t released pricing details, but apparently their press release gave the 199-299 price range and all the writers have referenced it. Here’s an article from guns.com

It will basically just take one manufacturer to offer a cheap one, then the price wars will be on. And I’m here for it

That’s exactly right! I was going to make a form 1 30 cal can but at these price points it’s not worth a DIY

Are they any good? Will they last 100 shots without falling apart and how effective will they be at noise reduction?

At that price point i have my doubts.

What part of the current available suppressors are you seeing that makes them worth $600+. Ive bought cars for less. No way a steel tube should cost over $600

Titanium ain't cheap and it's difficult to form.

I agree 100% on titanium, but there's no reason for some of the 14-18 ounce stainless cans to be $800 plus. Including some of the ones I bought when they still had $200 tax stamps.

Titanium ain't cheap and it's difficult to form.

They’re very forthcoming about materials and limitations, these cans aren’t for mag dumps and full auto. That’s when you need titanium bodies and stellite blast baffles for longevity. Used for standard target practice and hunting there’s no reason these shouldn’t last thousands of rounds or more. The blast baffle takes the brunt of the abuse and since this unit is modular and thoughtful about which part is serialized, you should be able to get parts replaced easily in the event you do wear it out or damage it. Even at this price point there is huge profit, others are going to have to follow.

Not to be a dick….but I just bought my first can. A titanium B&T. It is awesome and has flow through technology. But. Should I be paying $1300 for it??? No. I could by 2 Ruger American rifles for what that metal filter cost! Now that the ATF has backed down and there isn’t a $200 tax stamp, I too believe that there will be a LOT of people entering into the suppression market. Sure, some will not be as high quality as others but maybe a $300-500 can should be the sweet spot! Once you start shooting suppressed, it is pretty cool. Recoil and noise has never bothered me but the suppression sure does add some flavor.

And will last 2-3 shots before rupture.

My Silencerco Hybrid 46 has been shot on everything from 22-250 to 45-70, probably over 1000 rounds total.

At under $300, most of my hunting rifles will get their own….especially if the form/NFA goes away. Wait, most of my hunting rifles already have them. I guess I’ll just buy more guns.

Make 'em cheap enough, with good quality, & I'll take a hard look.

The day the paperwork goes away entirely is the day you'll be able to buy a "decent" one for under $100, in a blister pack, hanging from a peg in academy next to the slings and choke tubes...I've done without this long, I'm waiting a little bit longer to not have to do a bunch of paperwork, just out of principle

(well, maybe not the day but shortly thereafter).

I was honestly thinking of that very thing when I made my post. Buy a hunting license, beef jerky, camo, shells, suppressor in one stop. Throw it on the counter, pay & go
