I just found out that I can got on a hunt at Portland Landing next weekend. Has anyone stayed at the American Inn, and what did you think of it?
Is there another cabin rental place other than Roland Cooper that someone might know of as they are booked up?

I hav stayed at that hotel across from Chevy place in camden - its old but a bed. The Mexican in front of hotel is awesome - jacksons is solid too - great chicken and rack and reel not bad
Think they hav some bed and breakfast in area too
It hit me - american in may be across road by chevy place - it old too

Roland cooper state park use to rent cabins on water - had kitchen and a grill outside - liked then - think they still do

I stayed at American inn, it's older but clean, a lot of hunters from Cedar Creek and Portland were staying there also

Hunters run was good - permanently closed now though!!
Gainsridge is good - like it!!

Honestly, I wouldn’t put my dog in either hotel in Camden but that’s just me. I would rent a cabin at Roland Cooper or if they’re full, try the cabin rental place just up from the Chevrolet place on the right.

We’ve got aim Airbnb booked for next weekend down there. Place looks clean in the pictures and has a lot of really good reviews

We found a nice two bedroom, two bath cabin with 100% 5 star reviews.
It looks really nice.

There is a gentleman by the name of Holmes who has a fine cabin for rent right down the road from the Portland skinning shed.

We used to stay at the Caravel till closing time then we’d hit the woods/river🤷🏿 lol! The caravel has been around long time. lol used to be tradition we would go there first night of a hunt weekend. Buddy killed an 8pointer with his bow smelling like a chimney where we went straight from there to the stand 😂

⬆️ same here about the tradition! Shot pool there all night and slap crushed teal the next morning. Too superstitious, had to go back erry night before teal season opener
