DG will be adding 450 locations in 2026. Probably not a great sign for the overall economic health of the nation

I just left one in Mobile and the store was completely trashed. The parking lot looked like a dumpster too.

My kids have made a game out of counting DG's when we travel somewhere...The rules are it has to be along the main route, unplanned detours don't count. I believe last time I checked, there are 19 DG's between Northport and Orange Beach on the Hwy 25/43 route through Greensboro/Thomaston/Thomasville/Grove Hill, etc

lol I was somewhere in Tennessee last year and I saw a DG on one corner and another one across the street. You could have thrown a rock from one parking lot to the other.
I have an hour commute to work every day which is approximately 49 miles. In that 49 miles I drive by 11 different Dollar Generals.

They built a new Family Dollar right across the road from the DG by my house. It's closing already and hasn't been opened a year yet.

There been studies done showing the most obese people live within a few miles of a dollar general . Wonder why . I like dollar general myself being close to home for dog food, batteries or stuff like that . Don’t buy the process crap from them .

Not going to be finding many DGs in Mountain Brook or Fairhope.

DG put up a grocery store not too far from me, and believe it or not, it's really nice with competitive prices on food

We have two in Aliceville. One is a market, but I can buy most of the same stuff in both. On different sides of the same road, less than mile apart

I don't do processed food, cheap clothing, or bad beer, so I rarely need to ever go in one. Mainly if I go in to one it's because it's closer the the grocery store and I need some eggs, milk or bacon for breakfast. (And I have bought cheap beer there...)
