to fly to venues where his girlfriend performed then he needs to be fired and prosecuted too.

This is GROK's summary, based on currently available info.
Bottom Line While Patel followed the letter of the law (mandatory jet use + reimbursement), the spirit—using a luxury asset for a personal date amid fiscal debates—has damaged his image. If you're concerned, contact your congressional reps or watch for ethics probes. This story is evolving fast in the polarized 2025 political climate.

I remember Wray testifying to congress in 2022. He sat down and told them first thing that he only had a limited amount of time - he had a plane to catch. Turned out that the plane was the FBI executive jet, in this case for him, so it wasn't going to leave until he boarded. His destination was a vacation in the Adirondacks. Not condoning either one. but let's have everyone use the same rules.

If I am not mistaken, I thought Congress made it a requirement that the director will use the fbi jet for personal and official travel. If they don’t like it they should change it.

I don’t know who made the rule, but that is correct. For personal use, the director has to reimburse the government an equivalent amount of money of a commercial flight.

Taking a government private jet will cost a heck of a lot more than a commercial flight 1st class...

Sure, but a commercial 1st class flight doesn’t have the communication equipment the FBIs jet has.

He should have to pay the full amount of the expenditure and it is not just a $500-$1000 difference by a long shot.

"IF" the government REQUIRES that position to always be reachable in case of emergency or a time of need it's only proper they foot the bill. It's an expensive bill for sure

Pelosi abused her privileges as well Not sure if Patel did or not as I’ve been under the assumption he had to travel in certain ways as director. Not a good look but it is what it is.
The leftist media keeps saying maga is dead. I think they’re correct by seeing all those in our team keep quitting

The level of taxation necessary for this to be possible at all is insane, but instead of the root we're discussing the reimbursement rate. Absolutely bonkers.
