I bought a Bergara B-14 Hunter in 7mm-08 last year for my 8 year old son. I have really taken a liking to it. I shoot Federal 120gr bonded soft points to cut down on the recoil. I really like the gun but havent shot enough deer with this particular round to make any judgements but online the 120gr had good reviews for kids and women to reduce recoil.

Great round, pretty much all I’ve ever used.
Own 2 of them
REM Model 7 SS that I bought for my son and I have fully custom one.
Shoots a lot of rounds well. I’m pretty simple and use the Remington core lok round
We are not perfect, only forgiven!!!

it’s a great round - in ‘05/06 when i was looking for a new rifle, it was between the 7mm-08 & the 308
i went w/the 308 bc you can get a bigger grain bullet for it & rounds were a lot cheaper

Been shooting 7-08 for 25 years, it's all I hunt with now. The Accubond and Scirocco are the only tipped bullets I like for their accuracy and on game performance. For the last few years I have been using Federal Fusion in 140gr. I did shoot one last year with the Norma 150gr and was very happy with it as well. The 139gr SST is very accurate in my Steyr, just didn't care for the on game performance although all deer shot were dead within 70yds.

Great round. We have killed a pile of deer with it, never lost one, and watched almost all of them die on the spot. Most were killed with 120 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip or Barnes TTSX.

Itd probably the finest alabama deer caliber. I like the 120 grain fusions and love the 120 grain barnes ttsx

My Remington 700 loves the Hornady ELDX 150 grain cartridges, and they have done very well on terminal performance. I also love the ttsx's, in other calibers, but have several boxes of the Hornady's left so there is no need to swap anytime soon.

I love my model 70 extreme weather in 7mm-08. I reload for it and so far I have settled on the 120 nosler ballistic tip and very pleased with the accuracy and performance on deer.

Stephens Ruger American likes the hornady American whitetail in 139 gr and it’s pretty deadly on them.
Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

If I were you I’d probably buy some other caliber all together. A 7mm-08 is an inferior caliber and only designed for women and children. Be a man and get something better. You’d be lucky for the bullet to penetrate the hide on a large buck. Maybe go buy a 6.5 creed moor or something similar and just leave the 7mm-08 in the dust?  this caliber is about all I have shot in the last 18 years. It’ll do the job well in 120, 140, and/or 150 grain bullets. My personal advice is not one single 7mm-08 rifle I have will shoot the hornady superformance worth a crap so take that for what it’s worth as I only have a few.

I bought my 8yo a bergara b-14 stoke in it last year shooting the 120gr Barnes. I started him out with a 350L in an AR due to the adjustable stock, but I would have gone straight to the 7-08 if it wasn’t for that, less recoil and longer range. Fairly little recoil shooting it with a silencer. He killed one deer with it and dropped it in its tracks. I’d never shot one before, but all the research I did on here and going through ballistics it would be hard to beat for youth or adult shooters. I’ve been shooting a 270 for the last 24 years but would hesitate to carry the 7-08.

started using it for youth gun and saw how deadly it was w/ much less umfph and recoil. my deer rifle is a Tikka 7mm-08. super round for deer. it aint the arrow its the indian

Bought a Winchester XPR today in 7mm-08 on a whim. Never had thought much on the round but thought I’d change things up a bit. Gonna start with some hornady sst 139’s and go from there. 139's worked best in mine
Two roads diverged in the woods and I took the one with deep ruts,hills and mud.It may be bumpy but WHAT A RIDE!
