The more TV, Youtube, hyped up celebrities and etc.. the more money it attracts. Government agencies compete for funding by spending money to advertise revenue making sports, hobbies, businesses, and so on. If it draws in revenue it's safe to say they will continue to bump the prices up and expand fees.

Looks like SC would be 140$ for 3 days NR if I looked at it right. Several states don't even do this. "Several states don't even do this." Do not offer 3 day/limited time NR license or do not charge for a NR license?

I paid $400 to hunt two days on Public in Texas last year. They don't offer anything except annual.

The cost it ridiculous. $173 for a 3 day large game hunting license.
Sorry, had to vent. Annual with add ons is ridiculous. I stopped hunting AL after more than 20 years. Too expensive between license and leases/clubs. My friend moved to AR and I can hunt his property for free. I calculated last night that I’m saving at least $80 plus lease fees hunting my friend’s property this season. Will save even more if I don’t deer hunt. AL just got ridiculous with baiting and hog permits. I used to really enjoy hunting AL as close and made a lot of friends who are my extended family but not seeing deer made me jump on this new opportunity in AR. I’ll see how it works out but I’m happy I’ll get to duck and goose hunt too. I’m not sure what you mean but last I knew AR was around $400 and that won’t get you in a duck blind legal Even with AR NR all game and AR duck permit it’s still about $80 cheaper than AL NR Annual all game with bait permit and nighttime permit and duck stamp.

Ugh you sure? A landowner hunting his own land doesn’t have to have a hunting license in Alabama. Maybe that is if they are also a resident but that doesn’t make sense. And as far as the baiting privilege license. What a crock.

Biggest regret I have when it comes to anything hunting/fishing related is not buying the lifetime license before I moved out of state. I’ve already paid for a couple lifetimes in nonresident license fees over the years. I’ll pony up again this year. I’ve got the majority of my family in Bama and I will want to go hunting while I’m back in the area. Is what it is. I hunt primarily public land when I come back to Bama so chancing it by not buying a license just isn’t a smart idea. And I’m under no illusion that it will get any cheaper. Every state is increasing fees, even on the residents. Hunters in general are so much more mobile now so states are going to do all they can to raise revenue off the out of state hunting trend. If the number of out of state hunters ever dropped dramatically, maybe you’d see some change but I just don’t think the numbers will get that low.

I'm proud to say I'll be a driver's license carrying Alabama resident this October. I will hunt the land my family has owned for 3 generations and not pay for a NR hunting license. I will vote in my home state and get my hunting license there for the season before I show Alabama residency. NR license, including deer and/or turkey, is $399.50. Small game is another $130.25, and the baiting privilege is another $63.40. If I decide to feed my deer this year as a resident, the resident fee is only $18.95.

If I had my way the cost would be reciprocal with whatever state your coming from charges Alabama residents to hunt in their state. It will be a little more work on the staff, but is the best way to look after the interests of the hunters, especially AL residents that want to hunt in another state. Make em pay if they want to come here and hunt our deer and turkeys if they are going to jack us on their game animals. Of course, as always I would have an exception for active military personnel. They would be treated like residents. Can't really do that cause most states have a license fee and separate tag fees PLUS Bama isn't worth the price of a lot of other states if you go by trophy/mature animal chances OR enough public land to justify it it imo...

to apply for a draw hunt there's a small fee.
$537 for Idaho - 100% draw for non-res now

I struggle with the resident price…. And all i have to spend just to hunt as a resident…just to hunt..just to fish…when $80 is high enough for you to have to budget for it…makes you begin to winder if you should be doin it in the first place…im there…its so expensive to do this….im convinced most of yall sell drugs😐

Sorry, had to vent. 18 post in 2 years, here we'll let you vent! What else you got?  Speaking of Florida, those folks crazy about their turkeys. If a non-resident goes to shoot one turkey in Florida it would cost them right at $300 for permits on private, more for public. There are other states I would go visit relatives or just go to maybe just go, if not for all those fees. Let's get it changed.

They all pay the annual NR fees knowing they are not coming back.
