This incident has got the politicians calling for regulations... shocker. We really need more laws to prevent stupid people from doing stupid things.
It's a tragedy for sure, but put NINE people in a Polaris RZR, nobody in harnesses and go speeding down rough trails, it's easy to see this outcome. Unfortunately, the children are the ultimate victims because of the stupidity of adults.
I'm sure this ATV park will soon be sued out of existence. I would presume they have an injury waiver or something that is signed or implied: I know the ones down here have a waiver you have to sign for yourself if an adult and for any minor children you bring with you.

I still can’t comprehend 9 ppl in one UTV. I saw one yesterday on a trailer that looked almost as big as the truck that was pulling it; but, yes - putting 9-people on one is just asking for a disaster. If you are just putting around, I can kinda see it, but apparently the driver was hauling ass when he hit another SXS and crashed into a tree (based on the news article I saw).

I’ve never seen a RZR that you could put 9 ppl on. I thought they were the 2 seaters with small beds on them, right? Or do they make them with 4 seats too.

They do make em with 2 rows of 3 seats and I've seen jump seats on them too. No idea what model they were in.

Having 9 people on one machine suggests these people believed they were behaving safely. This ought to be a caution to all of us. Riding an ATV around the woods is one of the more dangerous things many of us do.
