Having a 50th anniversary party for my parents Saturday. I have bought a bunch of bushs baked beans. Is there a simple way to jazz these up some for the party. I personally like baked beans with hamburger meat etc, but never made any.

Bailey is on track with the Jimmy Dean's. Also you can sautee diced up some onions and bell pepper before browning the sausage. I've even diced up bacon that turned out real well. Just make it extra crispy.

This^^^

Don't put meat in them unless it's bacon. Leave the meat to whatever BBQ is served. You don't want ot try and outshine the smoked meat. Ground beef in them is kinda gross IMO. At that point it becomes some weird bean casserole...

I mix 2 big cans of Bush's BBQ beans (drained) with half a pound of browned ground beef, 1 diced vidalia onion - cooked, 2 links of conecuh sausage cooked and cubed, 1 bottle of heinz chili sauce, 1 cup of sweet baby ray's vidalia onion bbq sauce. Mix all ingredients well in a pan, lay 4 slices of raw bacon over the top and bake at 400 degrees for 45 minutes.

I do something very similar to AU Trout. I take 2 big cans of Bush's baked beans and drain them. I cut up an onion and bell pepper and sauté them until they are soft. I usually slice up two packs of smoked sausage and brown that. Put those three in a bowl and add a tablespoon of your favorite seasoning (I use Cajun), a big dollop of spicy mustard, a big dollop of chili sauce and then about 3/4 to 1 cup of bbq sauce. Mix everything up, pour in a pan, lay some raw bacon slices on top, and bake 350 about 45 min or so.

For every 3-cans of baked beans, add a drained can of black beans. Brown sugar, mustard, spicy BBQ sauce

I just cover the top with bacon. I just use regular pork and beans. I’m a 1960’s product.
