One of the new Lexus suv's is having issues. Think it may be that one. Rough ride, plastic on outside is melting, hood vibrates going down the road.

What transmission is in the GMC? If it's an Allison then I wouldn't have any worries. Any other one and I'd steer clear. Lots on info out there on their transmissions, even their newer models.

Unfortunately, it is my opinion that Japanese vehicles are better than our “American” products

We’ve had a couple of Lexus SUVs, still have my 100 series LX, we like Lexus.
I think the GMC has an Allison transmission?
The Lexus GX550 Overtrail would be the one we would get.

diesel @ 3.60/ gallon means 100$ fuel stops + DEF = not my idea of wife's daily driver .. It balances out. I get 28-ish mpg with my 3.0 it’s worth the extra bit for fuel. Most full size’s get about 20. Unless I’m towing, def just about in sync with oil change for usage. It gives you a 1000 mile warning. Little higher maintenance schedule than a gas one, but it seems worth it so far.

I don’t know I’d the 3.0 will use the same transmission as the 5.3 but we have had a bunch of issues with those transmissions in the past several years.

Lexus or Yota. After we whipped that ass in WWII they got their heads on straight, and now build a quality product.

The woman bladder size cancels that out to a degree.

While I like the 3.0 diesel, if your wife does a bunch of in-town, short drives, I'd be concerned about the DEF regeneration cycles.

1970 Chevelle SS. 454 motor. I know where one is for a steal. Only 20 made.
