Why do so many people throw deer carcasses in creeks? When I dump one, it is usually gone to the buzzards and yotes within a day or 2. The ones in the water seem to be there stinking forever. I'm sure it taints everything downstream. It's there some benefit to it that I'm missing?

Cause they don’t know any better. It’s an awful way to dispose of a carcass.

I think you are supposed to use your own land! In a creek is the worst way, everything gets contaminated!

There is a bridge near my home. People throw dead dogs and deer carcasses off of it all the time. How intelligent can these people be ?

You’re supposed to back into any random driveway you find and dump them right in the middle of it for the whole world to see and the people using the driveway to deal with. It must be a law in Alabama for locals to have to do it this way.

Correct.

Pro Tip: if anyone says something to you, just reply “I didn’t know anyone owned this land”. They’ll understand and let it go

Yep, and the casual everyday citizen who has no opinion on hunters and hunting sees it and instantly is against hunting and hunters.

When I was a kid back in the Late 80’s and Early 90’s there was an area where a group of hunters , where I grew up that would waste nearly the whole deer when they would kill one and they killed an unbelievable amount of deer. They would get just the back strap and the head if it was a buck. They had a big deep bottom they would throw them in. It was an eye opener to how sorry folks can be when it comes to hunting and pretty much life in general.

Same here.
I grew up around a club of “out of towners”. They had a small parcel leased that was well away from there club. 100’s of deer a year dumped in one spot right off the side of state right of way. Couldn’t see it from the road…

Somebody dumped a 70 lb spike (whole deer) by one of our gates. I hung a camera that day about 15’ in the air. I’ve gotten coyotes, bobcats, guys taking a piss, but nobody dumping deer yet.

I have no idea. There is a hog carcass in a water hole on the WMA I usually hunt that has been there since December. If they had dumped it on the hill, it would have been gone in a couple days.
