I'm looking for something under $1000.00 which is considered "budget". That's the top of my budget. I recently bought a 200.00 special, and it was good for a minute, but I'd like something better. I'm reviewed out. I figured I'd ask some like minded folks! Looking at a BenQ HT2060. Any opinions? Thanks

How big an image are you trying to make? How far will you be seated from the screen? The quality of the screen is very important

I've had 2 Epson's cinema style projectors. I have an Epson 5030UB now. The UB stands for ultra black. Some of the projectors, or the older ones, didn't reproduce a decent black color. But this one is nice. I bought it used off Facebook for $500.00.
I have a Carl's screen and we really like it. Paired with a good surround sound, I prefer watching movies at home. Our screen is probably 140 inches. We're kinda close, but it's fine. We enjoy watching ball games on it too. Our surround sound is probably 800watts total. The 12 inch sub will rattle the house.
And my son plays video games on it. He don't have any complaints.

A quality screen makes a huge difference. Don't forget to budget for that.

We have an epson on 120 screen, but not sure of model. My sound system makes up for any lack of picture quality
