My dad will be dead 5 years this April. He had stuff upon stuff. He wasn’t a hoarder, just a collector of tools, knives and guns. In five years, I still haven’t gone through everything. I’ll hit it hard for a while, then take a break. I had a great find today. I opened a box to find probably 50 Case knives still in their original boxes. We both collect(ed) them so it will be a nice addition to my bunch. I also found a pistol still in its case, brand new, never fired. That’s the third pistol of his I’ve found going through his stuff since he passed.

5 years? Sure doesn't seem that long to me. But good memories to come across.

So cool.
I found an army duffel bag in my Grandma’s attic after she died. It had two Woolrich “Elmer Fudd” suits in it ,just like new. Also with them was the huntings license back plates with the metal tags from 1958. I also have the guns they carried on that trip that my great uncle built.

That’s awesome. I wish I had a chance to dig through my dads stuff… if she didn’t lie,(bc she said she hadn’t found anything of value), there’s about $50k somewhere he had hid.. but I didn’t tell her that 🤫

I have an aunt and uncle that have both passed. He had cancer. He had hid money all over their farm. Tin cans buried all over the place. Tens of thousands of dollars. He handed her a map right before he died. She didn't need for much right up until she passed. The last of my grandmothers sisters. There were 16 brothers and sisters I met since my birth. Two are still alive. Both male. That aunt outlived her husband by 30 years and didn't want for nothing. She wasn't rich, but she was comfortable.
