Looking for experienced users who can tell me speed they are getting with Starlink.

My house is just about built in Ohatchee. My neighbor about 600 yards away, I tested his speed on his T-Mobile home internet while he was watching TV on Direct Stream, was pulling almost 200 mps. His bill is around $70 a month. Dont want to pay $120 if I'm going to get the same speed.

My Tmobile home internet runs around 150 Mbps here and my Starlink is about the same.

I have an extra one year old Starlink dish kit if anyone needs one.

I love my starlink, would never depend on the t-mobile for my needs. But it just depends on how you use it. I rely on mine for my job.

One question I have about Starlink is connectivity during rain. Satelite TV as we know tends to not be great when the weather is bad. How is the bad weather performance?

What kind of speed you getting hallb ?

Just ran a test, getting 160 down and 14 up and it's pouring rain right now. I stream youtubetv on multiple TV's fine as well as having other devices connected. For work I connect to all kinds of various VPN's and cloud services. Never an issue during rain, clouds, etc. When I first set it up, I would have some intermittent slow downs and a few of my work things would occasionally disconnect. The starlink app would show some very minor obstructions around the outer portion of the zone due to trees. When I had my property thinned I had them take down every pine tree within 80 feet around house and haven't had a single issue since. So having a clear view of the sky is very important.

We’ve had starlink a couple months. Works good. I don’t know specifics about the speed, but my boys said with att we were getting 8-10 whatever per second, and now we get 50-75.

Thanks brotha. That may be an issue for me (trees). I'm going to start out with TMO first since they have a 2 week trial. If that dont do enough for me, will dance on over to Starlink.

That is my big concern cause when the weather is bad around here, we like to know how bad right away, and I do that through the internet.
One thing I have been reading about with starlink is how you can relatively easily connect and entire 600 acre farm with one connection. Multiple buildings spread out with full service at a single residence price and its not through a phone. That sounds like a great thing but I want to see how its hooked up before I consider it.

Need a clear northwest sky for starlink . Mine has 20% obstructions but still get up to 200mps. It has a Heater built in for snow an rain. Worth every penny to me but it’s only option I have here in boonies .

I just lay my mini dish flat on the bed cover of my truck when parked and it works well for me.

We have had T-Mobile for a couple of years now. We Stream all our TV through the Wi-Fi have 12 Wi-Fi security cameras, and the wife works from home and does a lot of video conferencing, etc. on the computer all day long and we have never had any problems out of it. I could not tell you what speed it runs at.

I live rural. I've had T-Mobile Home Internet for about 2.5 years now. Works great at my house. Wife works from home 1-2 days a week using it...zero problems. Zoom calls, video conferencing, streaming multiple tv's, youtube videos, security cams, etc. Whatever we need to do, it handles it.

I do not use T-Mobile's gateway equipment, however. I use my own, with an outdoor mounted antenna. I average 250-350 mbps download speed, and 20-50 up.

Starlink isn't an option for me, since I live on wooded property. I've performed their obstruction test, and it puts me between 35 and 40% obstructed.

You'll just have to find out what works best for you. What works best for someone else 30 miles away isn't necessarily what will work best for you. AT&T and Verizon also offer FWA home internet as well. Worth looking into them as well, if their cell service is good in your area. The biggest obstacle to FWA cellular internet is the fact that they'll only sell a certain amount of accounts in each area to keep from overloading the towers...so it may not be available to you even though your next door neighbor may have it.

Ours has gone out in really bad storms but never for very long. 10 minutes maybe. I would still recommend it. It's been way better than any land based provider in our area.

I got Starlink at the beginning of this hunting season and I have had mixed results. However, most of the issues I have are related to obstruction. Our camp is in the woods and it’s just nearly impossible to get a perfectly clear view of the northern sky. It is getting us by with streaming Netflix but Direct TV Stream can lag and buffer at times.

I just tested my tmobile: 700 down, 38 up. Less than 1/2 of price starlink which we got about 250 down

I'm right on the dang main line through the area here so my hard fiber direct line bounces at 1000 down and 500 up. But I need to spread out.
