It kills me this time of the year. I own my own business and work until the job is done. Sometimes I’ll be doing a job and can finish it in a day during the summer but this time of year it gets dark so soon that it sometimes bites me and I gotta go back the next day to finish which cost me time and money and makes me push the next job back to the next day. In the summer time I can get done around five and still come home and unload equipment and maintenance everything and get loaded for the next day before it gets dark. This time of the year I’m having to maintenance equipment and load trailers in the dark which sucks

You do realize that the days get shorter in the northern hemisphere this time of year because of the tilt of the earth? It doesn’t have anything to do with the time change.

LOL, it was getting dark at 1730 and then the clocks went back an hour, guess what? It got dark at 1630

So youre saying when it gets dark at 6:00 one day then 5:00 the next day, you dont lose an hour of light? Pull up to someones house an hour earlier than normal and crank a big chainsaw, see what kind of reception you get. Matter of fact, i think theres laws in some cities about such. 7:30-8:00 is a pretty common time to start working in someones yard. 6:30 is gona get frowned on pretty hard in some areas.

Make up whatever excuses you want to. Arizona and Hawaii don’t use daylight savings time.

And it was getting light at 7:30 and the clocks went back an hour and it was getting light at 6:30. We don’t lose an hour. You just have to get your lazy ass out of bed.

You do when you get off work at the same time. We understand what you’re saying. But business not adjusted their time according to day light.

Getting dark at 5 PM is so much better than the 9PM in the summer time. It just makes everyone feel better. I wish it could get dark at 5PM all year long.

Yes! I hope it stays on "summer time" time. I don't do well with the dark early thing at all.

I bet most of y’all have watches 😂🤣😂🤣😂 I have to reset feeders every so often regardless of the actual time, there is a hell of a dawn/dusk spread timerwise regardless of time change.

The man that will make billions is the one that makes a feeder timer with a dawn/dusk sensor !

I like standard time, getting dark at 7:30 is plenty in the summer.
My pawpaw had a 80’s Toyota Starlet that had 400,000 miles on it and got 40-42 mpg.
No reason a combustion engine can’t get 50+ by now.

Leave it on standard time. DST sucks.
In the summer it does not get dark till 8:30. It is too hot to do anything in the mid day. So that means if I want to go fishing and stay till dark or close to it, when it is finally cooled off enough to go. It’s 9 by the time I load up boat. Then clean fish. Drive home then your looking at 1030 or 11 o’clock getting home. That or just suffer though the heat and leave early.

Then there is kids. We try to get them in bed before 8. Makes it real difficult when it is still light.

Then for winter. During hunting season it is kinda nice that it gets dark at 5. Then I don’t mind hunting till dark cause I’m still getting home at a reasonable time.

Permanent dst was tried and failed miserably. People hated it and demanded going back to standard.

It's okay for friends to disagree.

We still great friends but needs to be other way around.

Country folks need that daylight at end of day rather than the morning.

Correct. People don’t mind you working late in the afternoons but you show up in a neighborhood at 530 in the morning to start doing work people are gonna be pissed

I used to work with a guy in the evenings quite a bit. He had a regular job. I would climb a tree for him after work and he would clean it up that evening and maybe the next evening. He might make an extra $1000/week doing that and cleaning up some of my jobs after he got off work. Time falling back an hour in the fall pretty much stopped that. We would always be in a rush those last few weeks to get all those jobs done. Everybody certainy dont like it. It is also not good financially, healthwise or emotionally for everyone. Some people go into depression around that time each year. Different strokes for different folks, i guess. Now, when i worked a public job, i was gad to see it coming. Not so much any more, working for myself
