Random question. What company has the most employees that has an office in Alabama? I assume it would be a company with offices all over the country or world potentially. Curious what company it would be and the total number of employees.

If you include the people they employ out of state, I’d guess regions bank, southern company, or westervelt.

UAB is the biggest "employer" but folks in the UAB system may get their paychecks from any variety of different companies.
APCO is not the biggest but actually about mid-level. Many of the power providers in the state are local or or a co-op. Ours here is city but other folks nearby are on Power South or SAEC or Southern Company.

An office I used to work at with about 15 employees got purchased by a group called WSP that has about 65,000 employees worldwide. I’m trying to figure out if there is any company with a presence in Alabama that is bigger than 65,000 employees.

Walmart, Dollar General, name the car builder, Coca-Cola, name the mega-corp, we got a representative I'm sure. Heck, Bechtel and Exxon got offices here. I think Bechtel has or did have over a million just on the Chinese payroll.

I'm sure they technically are but they are only able to report "legal" employees.

Those are obvious ones that I wasn’t thinking about. McDonald’s, Amazon are a couple more. That answered my question. Sounds like it is a very big company but nowhere close to the biggest.

ExxonMobil doesn’t have 65k employees worldwide. As big as they are, relatively speaking, they don’t directly employee as many personnel as you would think.

"Why do you ask"?

Too many people spend money they don't have , on things they don't need, to impress people they don't know.
