I was looking for a large aerial map to use at the club for a sign out board. The several big names in the map business charge $300+ for a large one. I just happen to see someone on YouTube talking about their land while looking at an aerial photo. They were not advertising for them I paused and zoomed in the corner to read the name.
Karta Custom Maps. I’ve never heard of them before and checked into it. Their maps are awesome!!!! I ordered a 40”x 60”, weather proof material, newest date available like other companies and able to use dry erase on it for $150. Just thought I would share in case someone is looking so they can check into it and compare.

Karta craft is an OG. I remember their stuff back in the 90's

Ink (good ink) is outrageous for plotters (wide format printers). One color for a large volume cartridge is $350 and there are 8 cartridges in my plotter at work. Then you gotta buy media rolls. Paper is cheap, but is only temporary. Tyvek roll was $300 for 36”x 50’ roll, the last time I bought a roll. That gets you extreme water resistance, tear resistance and fade resistance with a decent image quality. Photo paper is cheaper in price and less durable, but you get a great image for framing or displaying indoors.
$12 a square foot was about average back around the time I was doing camp maps for friends, and that was even taking a large jpg to copy places to print. I remember the Karta name, now that it was mentioned.

experience is a freakin' awesome teacher....
