I clear cut a few acres in early 2023 and now I want to establish a few food plots. I want to run a barrier of switchgrass on the outside edges. Has anyone had any luck with switchgrass? Do I need to lime the area I want to plant? What is the best time to plant switchgrass in Pickens County?

I'd plant around the first of May and not expect much growth until the second or third year. WMS has a mix with Egyptian Wheat and Switchgrass that would be a good choice.
