Whats the best thing to spray to kill johnson grass and when is the best time to do it? It pretty well takes over our 3 acre patch during the summer.

If you wanta plant it this fall , I'd bush hog it now , wait a couple weeks , then spray with Gly. Then spray again early Summer next year, after what's left shows it's ugly head. Or you could bush hog , work ground and plant and spray twice next year. It can be hard to get rid of , but it's doable .

Thanks. We actually did all that last year except for the early summer spraying. I figured that may be what we should have done but just didnt get around to it. Will def be doin it from here on out.

Gly is definitely your cheapest route. It will take several years of spraying it before you completely remove it and then you will have to spot spray any before it goes to seed.
