I would like to stay around or below $1000. My uncle has a Lincoln 180c that would be just about that price. Its a really good welder. Anybody have any suggestions?

I was looking at the Vulcan models from Harbor Freight the other day. The multiprocess one gets good reviews. About 1/2 cost of comparable Lincoln. Look up YouTube reviews on them. I do not have personal experience, just doing some internet leg work .

The welders in your price range are all disposable. You can get get an Arc captain for 400 bucks. It will weld as good as the lincolns or millers. If you had to buy 2 of them you would still come out cheaper.

We got a miller, hooked up with gas… no complaints…

Project farm did a welder review, and the too of the line harbor freight model either almost beat the lincoln or beat it completely…i don’t remember…there are some very inexpensive welders out there that do amazingly well..according to youtube testers anyway. I personally have no experience with them..my brother has one of the titanium 125 from harbor freight and it has been a dang good little welder..it sticks metal together and penetrates pretty dang well..i think thats what welders are supposed to do..if i wudnt makin a living with it..id try a budget model with good reviews🤷🏻

I was kindof impressed with the isreali welders ESAB but iam no pro.

Got a Hobart Handler 140. Wish I’d have ponied up for the 210MVP for 120/240 capability but I’m only using it for sheet metal so 120 gets me by. Uses easy to find miller consumables. It does a nice job for what I’m wanting to do with it.

I've been very pleased with my Eastwood Mig 250.

I've got a friend who has a Eastwood multi process 200 that he runs daily on a mobile welding rig that he swears by. Check out Rockin G Welding on FB & X for his reviews on it.

I’m following! I have a 125 Lincoln flux core. I’m not impressed with it. I want to upgrade to a mig that uses gas and welds thicker steel.

Lincoln Miller and Hobart will all serve you well. Just check the duty rating before you choose and make sure you’re ok with that.

My uncle has had his welder for 20yrs. It has been a good one. Hes kept me pieced together for years now. Hes getting too old to keep me going and its near impossible to get a small welding job done these days. Especially if you need it done quick and for a reasonable price. I bought a 110 welder to weld on my dump trailer. It should be illegal for that thing to be called a welder. I guess it might weld tin cans together or alumi um foil or something. Looks like you slung a hand full of cttag cheese on it. Im not welding for a living. Just need to be able to fix what i break.

I got a Hobart 210 with the dual voltage feature and it works fine but all I have ever used with it is flux core and 120 volts. I know it’s not what you asked about but I bought one of those titanium dual voltage stick welders from harbor freight ( the green one). That little thing weld’s great. It honestly surprised me how well it works. They have a mig machine by that brand and it’s a lot cheaper than the Hobart I got. You can buy the dual voltage titanium mig machine from harbor freight for $550 dollars. If I had it to do over again that’s what I would buy because it is less than half the price of the Hobart. I’m not a professional welder by any stretch of the imagination so take that into consideration too.

I have a Miller 211 that I love. $1000 is what I paid for it several years ago, so probably over your budget now.

There is a Vulcan Migmax at Harbor Freight in Bham right now. It’s up to the left of the register in the “as is” section. It’s a return. They have it listed for $515. Manager said there’s a 5 day return and he regards it as a 50/50 shot. Supposedly it was tested before being sat back out.

I bought a Lincoln180hd. Got an electrician friend of mine coming monday to putme a 220v plug outside to run it. Looking forward to trying it out. Itll do flux core or gas welding. If its anything like my uncles 180c, itll be a good one. I got it for $750 shipping and all.
