There are several good restaurants down along 30A but traffic getting there and back during the summer is crazy. There was time it wasn’t. Many of my favorites are in 30A. Cafe Thirty A being the best in my opinion. Grayton Beach had The Red Bar but it’s touristy now and haven’t seen the rebuild. Harbor Docks was a really good back in the day

Questions: How long do you want to wait in line? Do you want local or touristy? Are you willing to drive 15-20 or closer to an hour?
If you head West from Sandestin, get ready for long lines of people and long lines on the roads. That's a period, end of story. Yep, Dewey's is good, A.J.'s you get a lot of food, Crab Trap is hit or miss (usually a long, long wait in the summer), Boat House, yep good. You head West, you've been warned.
Heading East, yep, Stinky's is good but is a chain rest. Donut Hole, get ready for a wait unless you go early early, Donut Hole at night is awesome and generally not crowded. (FYI, publix has better doughnuts than Donut Hole) Baytowne Warf is a cool place, it can get crowded, but you're heading for a major week what more can you expect?
Now, let's get to some that haven't been mentioned: The Bay, Grayton Seafood (call now get a reservation, you can thank me later), Shunk Gully is ok, the view is fantastic, Seafood market for lunch (supper they jack the prices up for what it is), Nicks Seafood (it's across the Bay, but so worth the drive), Los Rancheros mexican, and my final Louie Louie's (they have the same menu as the Red Bar, cooked the same, they serve the menu on altering days Louie Louie's M-Thurs. and Red Bar Fri.-Sun., you can call and they will tell you) If you want some fun and want to wait an hour or more for a table, go to the Red Bar. They only serve 7 items, not much of a menu, but the food is good). I will throw one more in just for Aldeer, Chanticleer Eatery.
Ice Cream - I have two: Pecan Jacks is closer to San Destin and right at Shunk Gully, eat then get your dessert. Blue Mt. Creamery.
You won't have to drive anywhere for Fireworks, just get on the beach, you will see all you want.

Donut hole for Breakfast skip the donuts and get either and omelet or the everything....Louis Louis for dinner just down 98 they are the sister restaurant of Red Bar....Crab Cakes and the Grouper on a grit cake are my 2 favorite dishes in the whole 30A Destin area. Best crab cakes ive ever had. If you want to fight the crowds down 30A Great Southern Cafe in seaside is good stay away from bud and alleys it does not live up to the hype. Cafe 30A is good too as well as north beach social on the bay. Louis Louis and Cafe 30A take reservations.

Shades bar and grill in 30A is a straight shot from where you are. Louisiana Lagniappe if you want to fine dine. Traffic is going to be bad no matter which direction you go.

Is elephant walk still around?
Louie Louie’s mom as one I was trying to remember. Best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had. I need eat anything but seafood while there but folks talked me into it. Ordered one to go for the drive home.
Can you still access the beach from behind the red bar? Or has that all turned private. Been a few years and we may head down this fall. Wife’s parents buried at the cemetery just north of the blue mtn beach pier. Her family that lives there has been calling the past few days so she my wanna travel.

lol. It had been a while since we’ve ate there but did have a great meal. I’d thought they’d closed but wasn’t sure. Cafe Thirty Is my favorite by far. Louisiana Lagniappe is another. We used to wear our goat feathers and Elmo’s for casual. There was some hole in the walls too

It’s been 8 or so years since I’ve been thru there.
Is the beach access behind the red bar still there or has it gone private. Used to stay at the Hibiscus at Grayton after her mom left Santa Rosa 30a.

Boshamp’s (sp?) & Louisiana Lagniappe ain’t too shabby Go to Boshamps and order the fried grit cake appetizer with the original snapper plate that has collard greens. Put the snapper on the grit cake and the greens on the snapper. It's the best plate on the coast.

This is Aldeer! The place people come to vent their frustrations and completely change their stance a few minutes later...

Definitely Donut Hole for breakfast but be prepared to wait in line however it’s worth it. For dinner I recommend Pompano Joes if you prefer flavorful food or Captain Daves. Both are good imo
