I picked up a Judge 45/410 in 2 1/2” 410.
I don’t buy the idea that a 3” 410 pistol would be much better than a 2.5”…and found a decent deal on a 45 Colt/410-2.5” Judge.
This thing is a HOOT to shoot!!! I’ve shot 45 Colt light loads, 45 Colt powder puff light loads, full power loads, and several different types of 410 shot shell varieties in it.

I’ve read so much negative crap about them…and these suckers seem to be VERY polarizing of people’s opinions.
It’s similar to like you’re DESPERATELY IN LOVE WITH JUSTIN BIEBER, or he annoys you.

Do I have a better 45 Colt gun?…oh heck yeah. But when working or piddling in snake world, it seems like a pretty good idea for a snake gun or whatever.

I definitely wouldn’t want to trust my life on a Taurus made gun vs a 44 magnum Dan Wesson if I’m in Bear country.
And no, I wouldn’t trust a Taurus if I was in a sketchy place helping a friend with a flat tire.

But this thing seems like a flat out hoot loaded with #4 or #6’s when bushhogging a field (RAT KILLIN’ !!! WOOOO-HOOO!), or just blam-blaming with buckshot at water bottles and clays.

Any of y’all have any ideas pro or con on them?

I like mine but its 3 inch and a snake killer, hard around me to find 3 inch #4 or #5. I have never shot 45 through it but it sends a mean pattern with buck shot!

My problem is that they just dont seem to be very practical for regular type stuff that you may need to shoot from time to time. They are more of a toy type thing to me. Cool, effective, big bang, just not a regular kind of gun.

I like mine. I've shot a pile of snakes with it. It'll bruise up your palm if you shoot 3 or 4
consecutive shots.

I like mine, but seldom use it. I bought it as snake gun when trimming around the ponds. But it’s so heavy, I have to wear suspenders or a chest holster.

Carried mine to shoot snakes, but now just tote an old single six with 22 shorts and rat shot

I’ve never had a Judge that didn’t jam.

Couldn’t have said it better myself. Great for snakes, but after trying it on steel plates it’s a dedicated reptile gun unless it’s loaded with .45LC and there are smaller and better handguns with that cartridge.

Just kinda awkward to me. I suppose it's "better" than a zinc .25 auto.

Loudest thing I ever shot. I thought I went deaf shooting a few times at a snake with no hearing protection. I could not hear for like 3 days. Sold it after that
