50 is the age when you realize there are more behind you than in front of you
It is also when you realize how much longer it takes to accomplish anything
You begin to understand what you used to do all day now takes you all day to do
You spend a lot of time thinking about where time went and how you keep seeing an old man in the mirror
This is the reality of sensing your mortality

I'm 55 with a 6yo adopted daughter who I call "Ming the merciless" She has no concept of age or pain or disability. She's merciless.

This weekend I attended a water part, paddle boat rides and Oak mountain beach. The beach was unexpected and a result of the paddle boat ride. Don't talk to me about getting old sucks . It does beat the alternative, but I have to man the F up and do what is needed.

With me , I wish I'd made different job choices. If I'd been 150lb and 5'9'' my joints been better shape . I came up as a big ole tough farm boy and the jobs never really changed . Always been lifting toteing draging heavy stiff around and I was stupid to just do it when I didn't have too

At 55 - i get lot of pain. Been working out for a year - had to cut a few things out. Was doing excessive forearm work out 3-4 days a week. Was hitting golf ball further. Tendentious had flared up so bad - had to quit. Still doing leg work outs and pushups. Sucks to hav to back of doing stuff cause body does not allow anymore - body cant handle

At 60, I get giddy working the holler on a day off. I feel like I get enough exercise for a week, but dang it hurts for a couple days. Been clearing a spot for a cabin and a food plot on the hill. It's easy knocking over some decent trees, but he77 to get them out of the way by hand.

Body building and boxing in my teens and twenties really took a toll on my shoulders. Always been real hard on my body. Just figured life was short! Better to burn out than fade away! Both knees have been scoped and have had two shoulder surgeries with another on the way. Wouldn’t change it for the world though. Lived real hard with candle burning on both ends. Figure they will put me in the grave with a big smile on my face.

Same age and am dealing with tendinitis in both elbows
It hinders almost any kind of decent workout

Don’t let this man fool you. He hike the Walls of Jericho like there was no tomorrow. Not only that. When we were at the end of the hike we stopped to rest and admire the gorge. Talking about how the big thing now is weight vest training. Wait for it…. On the way out I see a weight vest (mind you brand new probable 40-50lbs) that I’m sure some 20yr old discarded on the way out because it had done whipped his ass. I asked Ol 2Dogs if he wanted it since he was just talking about it. He said sure. He put that damn thing on and hiked another 3/4 mile or so with it and never broke a sweat. Now me and Ol Whitebone were starting to suck a little wind. More Whitebone than me but 2Dogs… Nadda!

I was the youngest one in the group and struggled the most lol. It's when we took the shortcut to the top when it really got me. I think that's where we found the vest too. Now I will note that the vest did slow ole 2dogs down enough for us to keep up. Man that was a fun trip, I would love to do it again. Maybe even camp there next time.

This goes to show that you never count a old man out of anything
Aches and pains along with snow on the roof doesn’t mean decrepit 😁

They make it sound better than it was , I broke a sweat and was sucking some wind. The last leg of the Walls hike, (from the creek out to the parking area), is pretty tough without adding extra weight. BTW, I never put that vest on again. laugh

The aches and pains don’t bother me as much as the loss of energy and drive.. I’m sure it’s health reasons but I can’t get a dr to tell me that anything is wrong..always say I’m fine

I get frustrated as a senior citizen that I can only do a little over 100 full pushups per set, maybe 14 pullups per set.

I wish I could have sex more than 4 days per week, so busy I can’t always find the time.

With all of my injuries most folk couldn’t get out of bed and are on pain meds.

I still don’t know what anything over 8% body fat is like

I could swear I hike high altitude better than when I was young, maybe because I move slower and rest more?

My favorite activity is chainsawing all day in 100+ heat 😂🤣😂🤣

I know so many people that are old men at 17 years old because they got no machismo.

Mind over matter people !
