Some of them are just status symbols like high end worthless vehicles.

I’d go for it. I have a few. For keys and headphones and what not. Helped me several times. There’s securing devices you can buy on Amazon cheap to help them stay in place.

Have you priced bikes recently, somewhere other than a "big box" store?

My neighbor hides them in his equipment. He recently found 2 Stihl back-pack blowers that had been stolen off one of his trucks. Well worth it to him.

Folks are putting air-tags in USPS packages. I have one shipper who sends me packages with an air-tag and a self addressed stamped envelope so I can mail it back to him. Saves him a fortune on insurance. USPS employees use their phones to detect the air tags so they won't steal the package and it gets delivered promptly.

I know of a bike right now on a shop floor with a $6,500 tag on it.

Seriously good bikes that don't come from the Walmarks are expensive, and they are worth it. For those who ride a lot, do triathlons or enjoy a good experience, they pay for quality.

Air tags definitely are worth the investment, too, just like putting up cameras at your hunting camp or home.

We've had a local methmatician hitting the side of town I live on pretty hard. Got my damn battery charger and a weedeater. Unlocked the shed to get my chainsaw, polesaw, and blower out to help my brother clean the yard up at his new house. Luckily I had them with me when he hit. I think he got picked up yesterday, but I am sure he will be out and about before long. Hate a damn thief.

about a year...takes a 2032 watch battery I think. and it'll notify you when it's getting low so you can replace it

Crappy part is that the thieves use them as well. My son’s truck got stolen in Ft. Worth. It was recovered, however it required work at a body shop. Once he got it back it had an air tag in it. Come to find out, thieves will use air tags to provide a location for the stolen vehicle to someone who will pay for it. It took him almost 2 weeks to find it. PIA

I need details. I keep reading these articles where they find their tools but no perps. I'd sit there and wait for a perp and end him if I could.
Law enforcement appears to be as useful as a poopoo flavored lollipop.

Theft, first time - smash the hand a couple of times with a hammer

Theft, second time - smash one hand several times with a hammer and chop off the other hand

Rape - chop off their dick

Incest or murder - chop off their head

All publicly.
