Just bought a 2500 gas with the Allison trans I really like it so far rides good not that bad on gas mileage in my opinion it has too many bells and whistles. If I were to buy a 1/2 ton it would be a Tundra it is really a good looking truck How "not that bad in gas" is it?

Holy crap! Are you kidding? Damn, my parents paid $70,000 for their house in the 90's. I bought my house 10 years ago, which was a foreclosure home on the market at the time, it has needed much work, but paid $70,000 for it. That is crazy.

Had a Shelby F150 pass me the other day. $137,000 plus dealer markup A friend ordered a C8 but never got it. He had guys offering him another 100 over what he gave for it. Crazy times. Heck I’d like a F150 Tremor. They’re 70 plus.

Until folks quit “buying” trucks at these insane prices nothing will change. I plan on driving my 2011 Tundra until it falls to pieces unless something drastic changes with vehicle prices or my income situation.

I bought my house 10 years ago, which was a foreclosure home on the market at the time, it has needed much work, but paid $70,000 for it. That is crazy. The last rental home I bought was 50,000 about three years ago. Three bedrooms, brick, etc, and it was a nice home right down the road from me. There is no way that I would pay the truck prices of today when I could buy a home for what a truck costs. I have only bought one new truck in my life and it was in 1983 when I bought a new Ford Ranger. I always buy used trucks and if I run across a great deal from an individual I buy it before I leave. I used to buy Toyota Tacomas and I always kept a For Sale sign in the rear window. I sold one or two a year I was driving and I always made enough off them to drive them for free. I have had my present Tacoma since 08 and have no desire to get rid of it. Too easy to let the smell of a new truck put you in debt!
I can't stand a thief.

I bought a new 1977 F150 4x4 the price was less than $7000. Times have changed.

Trucks no longer have basic packages. That’s one problem, the other is the value of the dollar is nothing like it once was. Then again folks are buying top end packages and customized trucks so why not keep making them. It’s definitely interesting times in the truck market.
I’m waiting to see how the new Tacoma works out. I’m not understanding the EV transmission so waiting it out. Also is it more comfortable than older ones. I’m looking at a F150 tremor or new model Tacoma as my next ride. Not so sure the used market is the best route but I’ll explore that when time comes
